HLTAID009 -Provide CPR course 

A&B First Aid Training provides nationally recognised CPR courses across Western Sydney, including St Marys, Blacktown, Seven Hills and Wetherill Park. Our practical CPR training helps students build confidence responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The HLTAID009 Provide CPR course is a nationally recognised qualification that teaches you how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. You will learn how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), manage choking, and communicate with emergency services.

This course meets Australian workplace requirements and is ideal for anyone wanting to refresh their annual CPR certification or gain vital life-saving skills.

Delivery options

 Express Training (Online + In-Class)

Short on time? This option is perfect for experienced learners confident with their first aid skills. Complete your online theory at your own pace, then attend a shorter in-class session focused on hands-on practice and CPR assessment.

Regular First Aid Training (Online + In-Class)

This course gives learners plenty of time to practise and build confidence with their skills in class, making it perfect for those who enjoy a more relaxed learning environment.

You’ll complete your theory online, then attend a comprehensive 1.5-hour practical session with trainer support and demonstrations.

In-Class Paper-Based Assessment Option (Assessment + Practical In-Class)

If you prefer to complete your assessments in class using paper-based formats instead of online, this option is available.

It’s an alternative assessment method designed for learners who:

Prefer paper-based assessments

2hrs Practical session in class

Have limited or no internet access

Require in-class support to complete their assessments

Please note this is not an all-day class but a short in-class assessment and practical session.

 


Units of Competency

Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in:
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(issued by A & B First Aid Training Pty Ltd – RTO 46055)

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites, but participants must have:

Basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills

The physical ability to perform two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor

Learners enrolling in the Express Course must provide a copy of their current or recently expired CPR certificate on the day of training.


Assessment Requirements

Assessment includes:

A short knowledge test

Practical CPR demonstrations on adult and infant manikins

Use of an AED and recovery position practice

Participation in simulated emergency scenarios


Certificate Renewal

Your HLTAID009 CPR certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
It’s recommended that you complete a refresher each year to remain current and workplace compliant.
